I just did a fluid change on my car and I noticed the cap to the reservoir didn't have a seal or gasket on it. Does anyone know what size will fit it and if I can get one at a local parts store?

Ted-
I'm not sure that there's a separate seal there. Need to check PET to verify if you have it handy.
You will be interested to note that the threads on the trans reservoir happen to match the threads on most small lawn power tool gas caps. A replacement gas cap from H-D will probably come with a petro-proof gasket/ring/seal of some sort that will do the job for you. A few dollars to risk here.

The OEM cap should have a gasket; part # 477 321 483 A. Its important that its there as the res. totally fills as the transmission heat cycles.................Porsche price is $$$
HD prolly sells for $.

I was having a problem with all my Tranny fluid spilling all over the place and found that the Cap Seal was missing. I had some gray gasket material and made my own. Don't have the problem anymore.

Of course this discussion reminded me that I am supposed to get one of those caps so I can add a fitting to it for speed-filling the AT during fluid swaps.
