Default Inside rear side panels

Someone on Rennlist told me to ask if anyone out there has tried to straighten out the inside rear panels along the trunk/hatch walls where they always seem to pull away.

If anyone has done anything like that or has found a way to straighten them out could you let me know.

One person mentioned that he heard but to ask you guys out there that if you soak them or get them wet and then lay then out flat on the ground with a weight of some kind it will staighten them since they are a fiber board cover with leather.

Has anyone ever heard of anything like this or done it?
Thanks,

Tony H.

I think Rob Budd posted one a while back. I can't seem to find it right now.

I think he wet them, then used metal clamps and a heat gun to warp them back to straight.

I used fiberglass cloth and resin to reinforce mine where they were coming apart.

I am in the middle of doing that now as the PO broke them and installed them back broken.

Sheet metal AL, pop rivets, JBWeld, JBQwik, FiberGlass, Gorrilla glue and lots of patience. I can post a few picts of the mess and what it looks like now.

Tony,

The other Tony H. (Tony Harkin) has a write up. I just went to the link that he posted a while back but it was dead. Give him a pm and he will probably post.
