I like it personally! If I had a job and a few extra bucks, oh and if it had a Rogerbox, I would be ALL OVER IT!

Beautiful condition, but the pinstripes make me gag - even though they are in reverse German colors...

Willhoit removed the painted pin stripes from my GTS when he detailed it out before delivery. One previous owner told me that while he didn't really like the pin stripes, he kept them because the were original and got positive comments for being different at car shows.

I guess the registry is down can't get into the site.

Although with exactly the same miles as mine I hope he gets his price.

Its actually really easy
Guys, I have been doing high end body and paint with a partner for more years than I want to admit. We have 11 different kinds of eraser wheels and I guarantee none of which will remove paint. Decals, vinyl etc. all day long but NOT paint. Also you will never get that pinstripe off David unless it is a waterborne and even then would be almost impossible without damaging paint. That looks professionally striped which means its probably a urethane, in which case no chance without major paint damage.

Apart from a butt-ugly color that is a very nice car. I'm not looking for a GTS but if I could stomach the color I'd jump on it.

In my mind, pin and other stripes are sooo 70ies...

We have long moved on to more sophisticated ways if individualizing cars.

If thats an old Porsche color it would be L998 rather than L999 as suggested in first post? Or am I wrong??

Because it was not a standard color for the 1993 model year it had to be ordered as a "paint to sample" on this car thus the 9999 number. This is confirmed by the paperwork from Porsche that Rixter gave me.

928's do not need pin stripes. IMHO, pin stripes are needed to add to a vehicle's body lines (to break up tall body panels). When you already have nice low & sleek body lines, a pin stripe is not needed and only detracts from what you have.

That being said, the pin stripe on this GTS is about as ugly as they get.

Looks great on MY eighties car!

May soon be available for some $30,000+ less!

Cool GTS, though.

I believe you but strange since
L998 = "Special order color from an older Porsche"
L999 = "Special order color to customer sample"

Never even heard of a four-digit paintcode..
