LP928

I just removed the "Y-Pipe" even though it has a muffler on it so I could better access the Shifter Ball cup I am replacing. There is no O2 sensor on it or plug, did that only occur in later models? I have a 1979 928 Euro 5-speed. This may be a stupid question but I was curious.

No O2 sensor until the L-Jet engines, if i remember correctly. 79 Euro should be a K-Jet.
