UmYeah,
Where are you driving from? I can be in Austin in 2 1/2 hours. Just saying.
This coming from the guy who shows up 2 hours late, and leaves an hour after he gets there.

UmmYeahOk, I live in Bedford and can get to Andrews in under 30 minutes. Therefore you should be able to get to Arlington in 35 minutes. If you don't enjoy driving then why own a 928? That's what they are best at. 08:30 start time get up at 7:30 or be late.

Sean, sounds like John has it nailed! You better be there. I will!

Flower Mound. If our 928 ran, was reliable, had nothing else to do that day, AND wasnt so early in the morning (is the sun even up then) we'd probably go. My husband (Richter12x2) already told several people we were going, even Roger. But that was back when we thought it was just around the corner like it was last time.

We didnt really stay long even then as we didnt even own a 928 yet, plus you guys were all going to leave for Paris.

And I can make it to Austin in 2 1/2 hours too... ...just the cops will be waiting for me when I got back home.

Yes, but is it worth the trip? IMO its not worth waking up in the crack of dawn on a weekend during the coldest part of the day. And driving 30min/hour (depending on traffic and whether or not we chose to obey traffic laws) Just to show some people pictures of our car and a painted intake piece... ...I mean, yeah, we're proud as hell of it, but its a 928, Im sure you all have seen one before. =)

Plus I cant drive my BMW in Arlington, because I fear a previous owner may recognize it and want it back

But thats ok, because my husband pretty much only has Saturday to do anything, so instead of the shark breakfast, he may actually get to work on his own shark. That would be nice. I'd like to have my kitchen, and dining room back =)

I dont own a 928, my husband does. And technically he didnt even own a 928 at the last breakfast. And if it helps at all, neither one of us has ever driven a 928 before in our lives

BTW, if I don't make it, those guys who's work I'm doing that day, just call me and we will sort it out. I won't know until Friday night. Need to get my car disassembled for next week.
Yes, Vaark is a FB111. He flew them. I assume a .5 is an 86.5, ya know the kind you had your hands in yesterday. I should be there, now that I have a running 928 and it's a bit closer to me. It might be a quick visit, as I need to get some honeydoos taken care of if we get to go to the PF show sat night.

Don't look at it like something you have to do, or all the negatives.... its just a time to have breakfast with like minded friends..
I dont think you understand... ...I dont like waking up. I love my job, and work in the same town that I live in, but I absolutely HATE going to work... ...why? because I hate to wake up. Some may blame that on my youth and that I should be grateful for the ability to wake up each day.

And with the topic of "youth," maybe if I went to bed at 8pm, woke up at 5am, ate dinner at 4pm, I probably wouldnt have a problem with going to the breakfast, despite the distance. Then again, Id probably have to leave earlier because I would need to drive 20mph under =)

I may be new to the 928 scene, But Im not new the the enthusiast world. Ive been on car related forums for years, and even am a member of a club. Now Im not talking about some punk kid street tuners that are racer wannabes, Im talking about car specific with chapters and such. There are club meetings, trips, gatherings, a bunch of them like to go to the drive-in, I usually hang out at the shows.

One of the problems is since Im into these things, my husbands time becomes very limited. Our plans were to go to the Bartonville breakfast in my car, drive to denton for exhaust work, in the evening go to a car show at the Bass Pro Shop, and if there was any extra time in between that, tune the car a little so it will pass emissions (which is past due). He may tell people about how I helped him get the 928, and how he might not of been able to without my help... ...but the truth is the cars not running because of me. I truly believe that if he had his saturdays back the car would be running by now.

I actually was looking forward to the breakfast because not only would my husband get to do something 928 related, but I wanted to ask you what all happened here with you on Rennlist. I was only able to read the first few pages on the "I give up and Im taking my posts with me" thread. Wasnt too sure what happened, and now am more curious as to why you came back

Of course us Austin guys have ours at 11:30, but that's because Friday nights are more fun in this city

Heard that. me too. If you can't make it, you can't make it. There's a Sat night Pink Floyd( they were a band from the '70s) with laser lights. It sounds like you have a full plate for Sat.

Meebe another time.

It's not that I don't want to go John/Jim, I've got a butt load of stuff to do this weekend. Like tear my car apart, put up some fencing, NASCAR all weekend (can't waste the season tickets), have friends in from Kansas...... Paint the house, yard work....yada yada yada.

Oh, I don't want to wake up any earlier than I have to either, I like to sleep in on Saturdays.

No kidding Brad, it would help if I went any further than just buying the planks and leaning them against the house.
