Internal temp sensor

Internal temp sensor
I have the always hot syndrome unless the selector is slid all the way to the left on my auto climate control. I have tested the outside temp sensor and it checks out OK and I have approximately 8 volts going to it when the ignition is on and the heater controls are on. Should I test the inside sensor? Can I get at it through the glove box?

You can get to the connector to test it inside the console - to get to the sensor to replace the whole thing you need to remove the whole console...

My hot problem was a bad connection at the external sensor. Along the way I was able to test the internal sensor by locating the leads to it, which run with those to the little fan. I found blowing through the fan vent was enough to change the reading and verify functionality. If that side is ok, all thats left is connection issues, and vent control control solenoids....

Cosmo...........have you checked the water valve?...........it fails fully and partially. There's an ongoing thread about alternatives.
The outside and inside temp. sensors are essentially thermistors which vary in resistance as temperature rises and falls. Testing proceedures are described in the WSM and Wallys write up that can be found on the 928 SP site.
The 2 sensors work with the auto climate control in determining settings of the recirc, hot water valves and mixing motor.
