Perhaps.....Stan might can help, but UK's about as big as Texas isn't it? Along those lines, it would be unlikely someone would drive between San Antonio and Houston to help someone out unless they had serious free time. Professional Mechanics don't usually make house calls.

Paul; try your local Porsche club as well as rennlist. There has to be someone fairly local who can trouble-shoot your issue for pay, or out of kindness with you standing beside. Your TBF anxiety is easy to resolve. Your someone should have a lifting method to allow for plenty of ingress underneath. Checking Crankshaft end-play is fairly straightforward with a micrometer. With the right people resource, your issue should be no big deal to get to the cause.

Hi Paul:

When my idle stabilizer valve went bad, the car started and behaved normally when cold. However, if I sat at a traffic light with warm engine, it would stall. It always started again without problem, though. Replacing the valve and vacuum lines cured the issue permanently.

Paul,

Great news and no doubt a relief. Time for an Italian tune-up and a chance to really enjoy that V8....

Nicole - thanks for the tip and also many thanks for the supply of the 3D red lettering, excellent service you've got going on there. They only took a few days to arrive and they look great

Paul, enjoy the simple fix- not always the case with a 928.
