Techron injector cleaner
I bought some of this the other day when I was at Walmart. Originally I picked up a bottle for the 80, but figured the 84 could benefit from it as well. I'm very happy with it so far. Idle immediately became more stable and my cold start issue is gone. The car used to require you crank it 10+ times on cold mornings before it would fire. Since putting in the cleaner it's lit off on the first crank the last two days. It's probably the best $6 I've spent on the car so far.

Advance. Yep. Picked some up yesterday and put some in Perl just before adding gas. I've heard to use a bottle on a 1/4 tank of gas and run the snot out of it. So I flogged Perl this morning. It was fun.

Costco sells a box of 6 bottles for ~$14 but it is labeled PRO-GARD Fuel injection cleaner with Techron additive.
The Techron that I have been using is labeled Techron concentrate plus. The bottles are the same size but the cheap stuff is for 16 Gallons and the other is for 12 gallons. Anybody know what the difference is?
BTW, I have been using Techron for many years, usually every 3 months. My old Ford truck started to run lousy and I had not used Techron for 2 years. A bottle of Techron fixed it in less than 20 miles.

Just curious as to how often everyone runs Techron through their engines. I know of some people who run it in every tank, seems excessive and possibly harmful, and others, like me, who use it about every 3rd or 4th tank on a frequently driven car.
I have often wondered if there is a performance decrease with Techron if you are running it in a car that has an already clean fuel/induction/combustion system. Might be interesting to run on a dyno with a known new engine - first pull full tank no Techron, pour in a bottle(s) do second pull.

I've run 3-4 bottles with only a few gallons of gas on cars that were sitting for an extreme amount of time.
The #1 issue I've read about with fuel cleaners is oil delution. Which is why I always run Techron in a cycle where after 1-2 gas tanks, I'm ready for an oil change.
This is for the cars that sit all winter. On the "regular" cars, once every spring and fall before the bi-annual oil change.
Local engine builder I know swears by this stuff:
http://www.le-inc.com/products.jsp?productID=175
He pours this into everything, crankcase, fuel tank, transmission etc..... His engines make a lot of power and last a long time. Who am I to argue? When he orders his next "shipment" directly from the factory, I have an order in for a case of the cleaner.
My snoblower had a bad miss at WOT. While it was running I dumped some of this in, with about a minute it cleared right up. I had already tried techron (call me lazy, I'm not rebuilding a carb in -20 degree weather).

I have used Techron and actually prefer Seafoam. I use it to clean out the air intake on my Nissan. It works great!
