Michael,

I've been running PF 97's on my track car for about 4 years. VERY pleased with the result in terms of braking power, and rotor life. A friend ran a "value" comparison a few years back of several track pads, and concluded PF 97's were the best value. Good choice on your part, and I'll keep your web site for my future needs.

I'm with Gary, best pads I ever used were PFs. It was so long ago I don't remember the number though.
PF90? Maybe? It was a mixed-use pad.

Michael,

I asked in a PM, but maybe you would enlighten those of us on here that are interested.

Your 2 piece floating rotors,

what is the material the rotor is made of?
What diameters do you carry in a 32mm width and a porsche bolt pattern (5x130)

TIA

We appreciate the inquiry, but unfortunately PFC doesn’t make a replacement disc for the 928.

Michael,

I do realise that they do not make a bolt on replacement for the 928. That really doesnt bother me.

I simply asked what diameters you make in a 32mm width, with a 5x130 (porsche) bolt pattern.
Ideally I would like 380mm diameter, in a 2 piece floating w/ mclaren fasteners. But I am also interested in a 355mm diameter.
I am also interested in knowing the material the rotors are made from, so we can judge durability against other rotors such as zimmerman, Porsche, etc.

Do you carry either of those? if you do could you supply me with a link to said product.
And if you could find out the material it would be appreciated.

TIA

They have a 355x32 with a 325mm offset and a 378x32 with 310mm offset.

As for the quality, PFC rotors are manufactured with high carbon alloy material using copper and molybdenum for maximum temperature strength and durability. Aircraft quality heat treatment is applied for micro structure alignment and durability. The rotor vanes are machined on the O.D. and I.D. for balance to reduce thermal warping and vibration. Rotor runout is held to less than 0.0005-in., and thickness variation is less than 0.0002 in. All discs are 100% measured and inspected to meet and hold tolerance specs. As a result, PFC discs have become the standard at the highest levels of professional motorsports. You will find PFC discs (and calipers, pads) in Nascar Sprint Cup, Nationwide, and Truck series and on a majority of current Grand Am Prototypes and Koni Challenge cars. They are currently the spec for the Star Mazda and Atlantic series, Formula Nippon, and formally in CART.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I was curious about using PFC '97 pads in my '88. Apparently Gary, you are using them in your '89? Do you have the "Big Red" ( GTS Fronts) upgrade?

From what I can tell, the stock 928 S4 needs:

Front: 0447.XX.17.44

Rear: 0345.XX.17.44

They apparently make a 97 compound for the rear, 0345.97.17.44. This size seems to be very common across the rears ( and some fronts) for 911, 944, 968, 928 in the same time period

But only 01 and 06 compound for the front in 0447.XX.17.44 size:

0447.01.17.44

0447.06.17.44

Is this information wrong or incomplete? Is there a '97 available for 928 S4 Fronts? Like 0447.97.17.44? A google search for that number finds some dead links and conflicting information...

Ken,

You should contact them directly (or, OG racing, as I think that's where I bought mine - it was a different number than 928's, but fit- think it was a Ferrari pad!!).

I bought several at the time, so haven't needed any in about 3 years.

Here was my contact info at the time:
