Default :( My passenger window won't go down

My passenger window won't go down I replaced the switch less than a year ago with a new one from 928 Intl. The switch is getting power though and I already checked the fuses.

How can I check the window motor? Any help appreciated

Thanks

Take off the door panel - from the front access hole (poly may need to be cut/peeled) - remove the motor connectors and connect direct wires to test function...

If no good - support window & unbolt motor casing - remove & clean the rotor - check (replace?) the brushes and lube & reassemble. This is often sufficient to restore function for a long time....

I'd pull the switch cover and manually operate the contacts in the switch. Often times they get carboned up and don't make contact. If this is the case you can clean them, but it will happen again and again. At least you'll know if it's the switch or the motor.

Joey,
Before tearing into your door panel, I would make sure you are getting power to the motor.

You can check the 18pin (?) bulkhead connector right before the wire harness enters the door. It's white and located near the right side of the tray in the pax footwell.

I'm sorry, but I can't remember the pin # off the top of my head. Alan, could you help here?

If you check this first, you can either trace back to the relay, then to the switch.... or open up the door panel and check the motor.

Gently push the plastic tube between the frame and the door forward while pressing on the switch and see if there's any movement. If so, a wire is broken and you need to remove the door panel to find it.

The 18 pin connector motor wires are GR/BL, GR/BN on Pins 1 & 2 - Above the EZK/LH units

Joey.

I had a working passengers window, then one day it just stopped. I thought motor, but before I tore the door apart I went on a ground cleaning mission.
In fact my main wiring harness (passenger side, front of engine by the jump post) was pretty FUBAR, it was missing the plastic cover, dirty and not making good contact. So I got that R&R'd and cleaned all the grounds and low and behold the window now works just fine................Maybe worth assessing before you get deep into the door.

At the risk of keeping this thread from being derailed, I would suggest that if you bought a used switch (not a new one as you say) the switch might need to be cleaned or replaced. My sunroof switch needs the same treatment, I have to push a bit hard and rattle the switch a little sometimes to get the sunroof to open. Over time the contacts in the switch burn. Might be possible to clean them like the seat switches and some of the other switchgear.
