Hi Rod,
As a newb and someone who is looking to buy a 928, the S/C would scare me off. Take Cameron's car for example, I loved everything about it and the price is fair market value, but I was not sure about the S/C. So initially I passed. Even if it was $4k less I would have passed. Now here is the part you don't want to tell the "ex". I spent most of my weekend reading Rennlist S/C threads trying to educate myself and to see how Cameron setup his car. I believe his is right in a conservative way. That works for me. So now to me his car is worth every bit of the asking price. I just wish I had moved a little quicker.
So bottom line, average Joe Car Buyer is going to pass on a S/C car. Decreased value. Selling to someone on RL who knows the history of the car? I won't say, I'm still looking.
Regards,
Brent

Since my car is a lot like Cameron's, I also won't say any more

To me, the car is worth less with a blower, it makes me thing that it has been ran hard.

Also with the low volume (relatively speaking) of SC kits on 928's and mostly shade-tree mechanic garage installed, most of the 928 SC cars are ongoing projects.
Each owner tweaking and tinkering with their own mods their own way.
Shark-tuned?
RR fuel regs?
Oil catch can/breather system?

Anyone getting a SC car will have to decipher what has been done and what needs to be done.
Adding layer of risk to an otherwise not as modified 928.

Now the SC boys are going to hate me.

Well, now for my side. Mine - No.2 of the second generation twin screw, right after Dave Chamberlins, I believe - was installed under the direct supervision and with the help (actually I was helping) of THE DAVID ROBERTS. You can't ask for better credentials than "THE CREATOR". It is teriffic and I have had no problems. Dave Shark-tuned it originally and is sending me new updated chips, so if I was buying a twinscrew, I would lust after this one, on the other hand, who knows me?

Yes it will from a rolling start at 10-15 mph in first - no pop, just put the gas down and hold on. It is almost impossible the first few times not to hit the rev limiter. I love it!!

Rod,

Come on, at least be honest with these guys.. YOU and KYLE did the install while I stood around and drank beer....wait, I don't drink beer.

Regardless, you and your fantastic very well raised son did all the work (the first time :-)

Blower or not, the car is worth whatever the buyer and seller agree it is worth. In a property settlement discussion, one sets the value and the other gets to decide whether to accept it of not. ie: If you set the value too low, she has an opportunity to move the car into her pile of things at the reduced price. If she sets the value and you think it's too high, you have the same opportunity to move the car to her pile of things at the increased price. You need to apply this thinking to everything you are 'splitting'. If she thinks the silverware is worth more than you think it's worth, let her have it. Like kids splitting a piece of pie. One cuts, the other chooses.

Question these days is more like who gets stuck with the house...

Anyone can turn a wrench, the key is knowing when, and where to turn it. We were just grunts. Thanks for everything you have done to help me. I hope someday to get another one for the red or silver cars. (Maybe if I win the lottery, 2 more. )

Offer to let the wife buy out your half of the car for 40% of whatever crazy-high-number she claims it's worth

Actually she wants the value of the car to be increased by the entire cost of the twinscrew, and of course it doesn't work that way, these are toys, not investments. And, good for me, the market on "everything" has tanked, so that works in my favor. She just picked a bad time to decide she wanted to be a cheerleader. ;-)

Hey Rod,

Truth be told... it's probably worthless by now. Instead of worrying about it, I'm willing to let you store it at my house for no cost and you can visit anytime you like.

What about Brett's old car. What's that worth? It's hers after all... that new paint is mighty expensive U know

In reality, I hope all works out for both you... splitting hairs isn't going to be easy.

Actually, I'm gratified that she doesn't want it. She would never be able to deal with it, in any way, so when I get it back together, finally, it will just join its stablemates. ;-)

Oh, I still have room, so I can store it here, but thanks.;-)

Nope, that certainly wasn't the reason, but it could be a good one. ;-)

Thanks, I drive the 82 a lot...
