Hi all,
I decided to replace the wiper blades on my '88 S4 - cheap generic refills.
While I was at it, I removed the arms to repaint them - and that's when I first noticed that one had the air-foil on the upper side, and the other had it on the lower side.
So, the question is, which way up - or is it down?

Never mind - I think I found it.
Pages 92-8 and 92-9 of the WSM seem to show the airfoil on the lower side - only problem is, they show that only the drivers side has the airfoil at all.
Anybody else have them both sides?

When you say "Air Foil" - is that the little "spoiler" that's on the wiper blade?
That one would point down, so the air that flows over it will press it onto the glass.
If you mount it the wrong way, the wind will lift the wiper off the glass instead.
This "spoiler" is mainly needed for the drivers side. Porsche literature at the time showed the cars with the "spoiler" on the drivers side wiper, and without it on the passenger side. However, to the best of my knowledge it doesn't hurt to have it on the passenger side.
Hope this helps.
