Malcolm to answer your question with the leads aprt on 2K I read the number 1, when I put them together it will end up at 0 ohms, it will also do the same thing if I use 2m on my meter. I tryied it with a loose wire and you are correct it goes to 0 ohms, my peoblem is that G14 doees not connect to Relay X it connects to XII in the 86 pin postion of that relay. On relay X G15 goes to Pin 86 and it should go to pin 87 I think after looking at the diagram. How do you remove the pin or wires from the back of the panel to relocate them where they should go?

I do not know hwat i would put back on pin 86 of relay XII if I move it to X. The relay XII is suppose to run my horns and they work.

I need to make sure that G14 is conneted to pin 86 according to my diagram and G15 is to pin 87.

One last quesyion I may be testing the wrong relay, all the way thru this or deal. on the panel there is a numbe and a small line which looks like it point to the right of each number i think i have been using XII the whole time during my tests because I looked at the the daigram of XIII and G22 is in the proper place for that relay and 86 is G15 so i have been using the wrong relay the whole time for testing everything. I am going to have to put the whole thing back to gether again and start over withmy testing all of my wires seem fine on the back of the panel.

Tony.........I'm back. There's no doubt that the wiring diagram shows G14 connected to terminal 86 of relay X. If your panel is different then who knows what else has been changed/altered.

Reading your last post lets make absolutly sure you know where relay X is.

To Malcolm, Alan, and Wallyp, guess what I am a dumb you know what. I have been testing the wrong relay the whole time. All is fine now I have put the panel back in and I have put the relays all back in and all is working fine.

If I had noticed that relay X was number 5 from the left I could have saved myself and you guys loads of typing but, I have learned how to remove my panel and have learned alot more than I knew about wiring before all of this started. I even have all 4 speeds on my fan now. This was all caused by me not really noticing the placement of relay X As soon as I had made the change on the wires in the resister pack If I had put the relays for everything back in all would have been solved but you guys are great to put up with search a jerk like myself.

Want to help a JERK again, what would be causing my antilock system to light up when I start to take off in the car? The exclamation light near the A/c control sometimes comes on and stays on and I have to push it to make it go out, sometimes it only flashes on and then right back off but the antilock light is still on in the top right coner of the dash cluster above the oil pressure guage.

Got any clues for me??

Remember I learn slow but sure (eventually.)

Thanks again to all who have helped, with special thanks to the ones I mentioned above.

Many, Many, Thanks
Tony H.

Tony - yes you are a ........ but you aren't the only one and you got your problem fixed.

Unfortunately the relay labeling is actually very confusing - using the diagram and counting positions is safer - or look really closely

The relative positioning on the panel of the relay lables varies and you have to look for the little pointer (that doesn't even look like a pointer) to see which relay the label relates to. Its offset one way for the top row of relays and the opposite way for the bottom row of relays... be careful everyone...

Its for the backup lights on a manual car - there is no relay here for MT - instead the heavy duty switch in the transmission switches it directly so terminal 30 (15) is bridged to terminal 87 that feeds to this switch (connector in the spare tire well)

AT cars have a relay here controlled by the trans selector switch and no switch after the relay - directly connected in the spare tire well)

As to the hole in the panel at XX I was reconfiguring the empty slot for a new relay...

Alan

Good idea Malcome to start a new thread on the antilock issue. I di a little reading in the manual and it looks like it could be many things. But I could always start out by not running to fast on my horse this time and ask for assistance it could be as simple as a relay or a bad as a whole brake system redo.

Hope you catch alot of good ones when fishing.

Thanks again,

Tony H.

Default Want to say thanks!!!

I recently posted a problem with my blower motor on the 1986 A/C in my 928, I want to thank everyone who helped in solving this issue with me.
A special thanks to several who were more than helpful, they were patient to put up with me as newbie to Rennlist and my typing.

Special thanks to WallP, Alan ( electrical man), Malcom (great person), Roger Tyson at 928 Rus (Parts Parts Parts) and a special thanks to 928 Worldwide (now a great Friend) for recommending me to Rennlist in the first place to become a member of such a great community.

I really can not say thanks enough, everyone was great to me and helpful even if it was just with the support to keep on trying you will get it.
Thank you all and I look forward to making more improvements to my car with all of your help.

Sincerly

Tony H.
