Default OB Tranny Rebuild Options in Ohio ??

Well, I have my tranny on the my workbench and I'm debating on whether to rebuild it amongst other options.

I've cracked the case and actually all the gears and dogteeth look very good. No noticeable damage or noticeable wear on one side or the other. This is consistent on how the car drove except the synchros for 1,2 and 3 were needing to be replaced. The tranny does have LSD so I'm reluctant to give up on it.

Does anyone know have reputable tranny shops maybe within a 3 hour radius of Columbus if I were to have a professional replace?

Thanks for the help!

BTW, it's a G28-05 Tranny!!

Ken Farler is considered one of the best Porsche mechanics in the Cincinnati area. he rebuilt my 911 915 tranny. he mostly works on 911s, and builds outrageous turbo track 911s. but I know he works on 928s too.

I know one of his customers 996 TT race cars dynos at 830hp and he has rebult that tranny a few times due to the high HP/torque and an aggressive driver. I am not sure he rebuilds trannys for 928s but maybe worth a call.

Ken's number is 513-932-1535

Checkmate,

I had Auto Assets there in Columbus rebuild mine that last time I had it out.
Talk with Chip Vance - 614-793-1050 or autoassets.com

They are an avid supporter of the Mid Ohio Region of PCA as well.

I also think that Pelican Parts has an exchange program on those. Unsure of their quality, but you might want to compare that against a quote from AA.

Regards,

Ken
