They welded his new cats on, then called him and told him it failed emission testing. We went to pick up the car and he has a no start problem now. We think we have it narrowed down to a bad sensor or a bad EZF computer. I think the shop blew the comp when they were welding on the car, then pushed it out to the parking lot and did not tell him that they were unable to start it again. We are trying to find an 85-86 computer to swap out and test his. Mark is the only one I can think of so far it the area.

So, I realize I'm a cheapass, sorry but this is where I ask if anyone has a timing belt tension tool I can use to check my timing belt tension. it's been 1500miles since I did my TB/WP job, and it's time to check it, want to see if anyone local had a tool I could borrow. If so, thanks in advance. If not, so be it.
Edit: And yes, barring any overtime(shouldn't be any, fingers crossed) I'll be there this Saturday.

I may come down and drag Jim with me and maybe Sterling can ride shotgun.

But if Roger shows up then it will either be cold or rainy!
I plan to be there. Roger, in case I forget to call you tomorrow, could you bring one of the hatch latch inserts with you if you come down? My hatch is starting to pop open when I hit a big bump. I know my insert is toast; not sure if I need the plastic catch on the hatch side to solve that problem as well?

Roger,
I was going to ask the same thing... or maybe I need something else. We "fixed" my '88 S4 hatch latch, but it is stuck in the down position again... Not popping the hatch up when the release **** is pulled. It does unlock (thankfully). This was one of the brand new ones that you had installed for me 5 or so months back.

Hi James,
Well we need to swap it out again.
The new assemblies that are now coming from Porsche seem to be better.
Can't make it tomorrow as the family has other plans for me - bummer.
The lower hatch inserts are also no good and seem to be breaking more than they are working.
Only alternative is a new lower hatch receiver.

Yeah, I ate lunch with you and your family at OCIC. I drove one of James' cars up there. That guy in Dripping still has your car???
