lol the rear crunched like that makes it look like an AMC Pacer.

Remember that the safest car is the one that has the passengers look good after the crash. What the car looks like is secondary - as long as it provides enough survival space for the occupants, and all safety systems work properly.

If you haven't seen it, yet, watch the crash test of an older Volvo against a moden but much smaller Renault!

why does it always seem the nice 928's get crashed and totaled?? It doesn't seem very often that I see a pic of a nasty 928 that was hit?

Sad to see those once nice expensive porsche just end up like that for parts.

That Renault/Volvo test is interesting and confirms that technology has come a long way. Otoh, I wonder how an equally old Mercedes, say an early to mid-90's E320 wagon which came with dual front airbags would compare to the Renault.
