Hello everyone,
I’m wondering if anyone might have an older model (1986.5) driver side mirror for sale? I’m looking for the actual glass part, mine got unglued and shattered when I slammed the door.

Is the glass the same as the '88 flag mirror? I may have one.

Yes it's a "flag mirror". I could sure use one!!!

I only have one and I dont recall which side its for..........the other went to another unfortunate soul.

The part # on the mirror is 944.731.035.02.............I believe its the drivers side.

I don't believe the S4 flag glass works on the pre-S4 flag mirrors - externally they look the same but the internal motors and mounting is different....

Thats what I wondering to..............PET lists totally different part #'s between the '86 and '87 MYs.

The mirror I have is the correct part number for the DS flag mirror.

Just to make sure we are clear I only need the actual glass part not the motors or hardware.

The way the glass/backing plate attaches is different - if you can just replace new mirror/glass onto the backing plate you already have - you may be able to do this.

This would be with aftermarket mirror glass cut to shape...

However stock units come on the backing plate which is specific to the motor/mounting type. S4+ glass (even aero's) is heated by the combined/attached backing plate element.

What Alan said.............the '86 MY mirror has a 911 part #.

The S4 mirror has a backing plate, heating element and locking ring combined. 928 Int have used on their website.
