Well I guess I can throw mine here. It's a 2001 Suzuki Marauder 800. Took this picture after putting a new seat on it. There are still a few things I am going to do to it but I'm trying to balance it and ordering parts for my 928.

My (well.....my brothers) $50 Sport Tourer
A few months back, I set my brother up with this -
picture taken a few hours after loading it up. Dusty as all hell, but in really nice shape.
..not that I was particularly looking for a 2nd gen Concours, but the CL ad kinda popped out at me:
I got a call back in an hour. Really nice guy who clearly wanted it gone. It had a brand new battery, new tires, tank bag, soft trunk bag, Corbin seat in perfect shape, hardly used bike cover, rebuilt forks, Kawasaki serviced, owner's manual and receipts since new. Never dropped, ridden only in fair weather and garage kept.
I was there with my trailer later that day. Although dusty from years in a garage, not a spot of rust or corrosion on the entire bike. No UV deterioration and hardly a scratch.
When I popped the gas cap, the smell of stale gas was overwhelming. He'd been tinkering with it over the years and couldn't get it running to save his mechanically challenged life.
Turns out it was his wife who wanted it gone more than he did.
The problem was that my wife would have my head if I came home with another bike. I have 3 kids and more toys than most, so she'd have a point if she had a fit.
My brother on the other hand showed considerable interest when I called him and asked him if he wanted a $50 complete Concours with 29k on it. He just needed to get it running.
..and get it running he did. The motor wasn't 'broke'. The jets were completely blocked from old crappy gas sitting in the carbs for years.
He's riding all over hell's creation now. These bikes are bullet-proof.
His investment in the complete bike is just under $200. That's a carb sync tool, carb rebuild kit, titling & registration (historic).
I showed my buddy this bike and told him the whole story. His comment was "Does he want to sell his house?"

The picture in the ad was the bike in front of a $2m house. I replied to the ad very politely and to the point: I have cash, I'll buy it sight unseen, I have a trailer, can load it myself and will pick it up at his convenience.29k Garage kept

Very nice looking bike. I bought mine with 17.5k on the clock last spring and have almost 23k on it now. I had to put new tires on it, rebuild the carbs due to gas sitting, fork seals, and just got the seat replaced. I intended to do a stage 3 jet kit and add a 17 tooth front sprocket and stiffer clutch springs. Move the forward controls forward 6" and get some slightly taller handlebars. Oh and a sissy bar with luggage rack. Then once I get the equipment I will be painting it a deep blue with slight metallic flake and have my girlfriend go over that with black paint in a tribal like design before shooting the clear coat.

Burning Brakes
Oh my - 1936 HD - Incredible. So nice.
Now:
2004 Yamaha FJR ABS
2004 Suzuki DL1000
I like them both equally and are my daily riders. I ride more now since later I will ride less due to oldness.
