Car Cover Info
Shark skin needs a blankie...
Since the search engine's been dead for days now, I thought I'd enlist the help of the experts.. I'm looking for a fitted car cover for '94 GTS. Prefer a full weatherproof exterior and soft flannel or like underside. In general, can they be used on the older 928's?
Would appreciate feedback, thanks!!!

I ordered a cover from Griots which I am very happy with. Mines an indoor only cover so I can't really comment on the other types but in general the stuff they sell is top notch and comes with a lifetime guarantee. www.griotsgarage.com
Here's a pic of the form fitted cover.

If the car's going to be outside and under a cover, then I'd suggest a Weathershield cover over a Noah cover. The first cover is very weather proof and very washable but very very thin. The second cover is thick, will prevent damage from minor impacts (small branches, acorns, etc.) but isn't very washable. The combination of the two works well. Not cheap, but Iris Blue cannot be matched so...

General car cover rules (IMO):
- a clean cover on a clean car. No other combination is acceptable.
- cover must allow moisture out. No Tyveck or similar covers that trap moisture.
- cover must be well-secured to prevent wind from beating it against the paint.

Funny you should mention you are looking for an "All-Over" Cover as I browsed over to this link yesterday.

Many Thanks
Thanx all for great info. I have yet to visit all the recommendations... it seems as if Griots and CA car cover have many of same trademarked fabrics/colors. We have one on another car, that I can only assume is an original accessory because it is stamped Porsche. By the time we decide, construction will be complete and babes will be back inside!! I'll keep ya'll posted.

I found some decent ones from empire. This cover was a replacement cover for a custom cover that cost three times as much and started leaking water and collecting dust under the cover in less than a year. My Empire cover is 4 months old, has survived numerous strong thunderstorms and seering Texas sun, and so far is exceeding my expectations. I have 3 cars under cover, soon the other two will be covered by Empire.
