"Best" coolant?

What's the current choice for the "best" cooland for the 928?
I've searched the web and seen recommendations for the Zerex G-05, but it's not silicate-free. Seen Havoline Dex-Cool, but it's hard to find. Seen Mercedes and VW recommendations, but I don't want to have to find a dealer and get over-charged.
Is it safe to assume that any Dex-Cool product that is also silicate- and phosphate-free is a good choice?
Thanks!

Whatever is on sale and says aluminum safe on the bottle.
I buy the 50/50 mix because I'm lazy.
I'm 99% sure the next post will dissagree with mine![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
FWIW I've had the same water pump on my car through three timing belt changes. I flush the coolant at least once every two years. Somtimes by accident.

I'm with Dan on the Zerex. But lately all the regular venors have stopped carrying it for some reason. The alternatives include almost any of the phosphate- and silicate-free products. That would include Prestone's DexCool-qualified stuff which ia available pretty universally.
Remember to pull the block drains and completely flush your old coolant out. Use the minimum percentage of coolant needed to give you freeze protection in your climate. In never-freezes So Cal here, I use a gallon of coolant and the balance in distilled water, plus a bottle (or two) of Redline Water Wetter. That works out to about 30% coolant in the mixture.

Zerex makes three types of coolant. They have a vehicle application chart for them at:

Been using Zerex G-05 for years now too....
Not to say I haven't changed my coolant in years. That reminds me, time for a coolant change in Chewy.
