Hi,
Yesterday my dash tail lamp warning lights up.
Check the tail and in fact my passenger side rear tail lamp was out.
Remove the lens, replaced the bulb, still out.
Try the new and the old bulb on the other side and both work fine.
Now, both front and rear, everything works, turn signals, fog, stop lights, back up lights, just one rear light is out.
I’ve put some contact cleaner on the hole, put the bulb in and out several times, still nothing.
Searching the Forum, I’ve found that if it’s a problem in the wiring of the assembly itself, the rear bumper must be removed.
I haven’t check the fuses, but if it was a fuse something else should be out also, I guess the rear light doesn’t have a fuse on it’s own!
Any ideas, please?
Thanks in advance for your help.![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)

If you have a volt meter check the socket for voltage both using the socket base as ground and also the battery negative cable connection point. If you have voltage but no light then there is a socket to bulb contact problem.
If not there is a strong possibility that the connection on the back of the socket has failed but as you have said it is difficult to get to so start farther forward and check the wires in the rear hatch area behind the tool panel.
f you have voltage in the wiring but not the socket you will need to pull the rear bumber to gain access to the back side of the light assembly.

Hi,
Thanks for your answer, Roger.
In fact our 928’s are amazing!
Yesterday I spend about one hour trying to put the lamp to work, or at least trying to understand why it doesn’t!
Today, voltmeter in hand, toll kit out, prepared to check wiring, lens out again, when I hit the pod light switch…. Miracle, the lamp is on!!!
Checked everything possible to check (without removing the bumper…) “shake” the lamp, pull it out, it’s working perfectly!
Anyway, thanks again!
Best regards
