Default Would like some help on choosing a blue color

I am thinking about the color of my 85-Euro and need a little feedback. My interior is blue but I am in the process of dyeing it black and leaving some blue but that decision is not final. Since the seats, dash and pod needs a refurbish I'm open to a two tone color interior. The door panels, rear quarters and other trim is a navy blue and in good shape. I do not like the whole car as navy, it reminds me of an old Ltd I owned in the past.
I would like to see some pictures of iris blue or shades like that for the body paint and options on the interior, anyone care to help me.

I just saw a late model Jaguar sedan today that was a little darker
than Minerva blue. I'm sure it was factory paint. It had a lot of medium
metal flake in it and it looked beautiful. Wish I had a picture of it.

It’s not my 84’s original color, but it’s Nacht Blau Metalic and has navy blue interior. I think I know where you’re coming from—it’s kind of depressing to have too much blue. Anyway, I replaced the carpet last year with a lighter color of blue and it seemed to help a lot. My first attempt at uploading a picture—hope it works!

Bruce, it looks good! You going to drive up and join us for our 2nd Saturday gathering here on the north side of Austin on Valentines Day? Love to see your car up close and get some SA participation! Love to see the carpeting job. I need to do that on my '81 and it would probably be nice in my '88 as well, though that carpet might can just clean up nicely with a pro job... Pretty sure the '81 is toast though.

Two tone blue and black might get a bit tricky. You don't have much contrast to play with, so you'd have materials that are the same but don't match exactly.

Since you say you only need dash, pod, and seats redone, I would suggest the following:

Make the dash match the door arm rests in material and color - you will eventually do both. Match door panel inserts with upper door panel material.

If you must have some black in the dash area, make the pod and steering wheel black. You already have black console inserts.

If you use contrasting stitching, you can follow this theme in the steering wheel, shifter **** and boot, door panel inserts, and seats. Don't overdo it. Not every seam in the car must stand out - only the ones that highlight the important lines of the interior design.

I know of a car with a blue interior with all black seats, and it looks mismatched. Don't do it! Consider redoing the seats in blue with black piping or French seams instead, but keep the leather matching the other leather in the cabin. Consider having a blue carpet set made with black piping, to match your seats. Or reverse it with black carpet and blue piping. to tie things together.

This way you create distinguished zones of color and materials that can play-off of each other.

If that's still not enough black, swap the whole interior with a black one. Everything else will look like a hodge podge.
