Just picked up a copy.
The Barnes and Nobbly at Citicorp in NYC had 3 or 4 more copies.
I even got to take a back one that people hadn't leafed through with their clammy hands.

Wonder if any of the 928 owners in the article frequent here. One of them specifically mentions helpful online forums.

The early car is owned by Joel Hopwood

He might pop in and tell the story of his early car.

Just grabbed mine last night. Even tho I knew about this thread, I had forgotten about it and while looking thru the car mag section at B&N, was startled to see a 928 don the cover of a magazine! I immediately grabbed it then remembered this post. There's tons of cool stuff in that magazine.

Guys the good news is that I have just agreed what I consider to be a very fair payout for my 1979 5 speed light blue metallic car that was the subject of this article, and sadly stolen shortly after the article was published. The water pump began to go and I did not consider the car drivable, but this did not bother the thieves one bit.

The car was recovered, fortunately there was no damage to interior or bodywork. The engine is toast though (no coolant, no compression).

So now she will be reborn as my vision of the perfect 928 - 1979 body with no spoilers or rubbing strips, S4 brakes and suspension (adj Koni, 600/400 Hypercoils) and my favourite 928 engine, the S2 Euro 310PS motor with additional fettling by Paul Anderson.

Been a stressful few weeks though.

Wow. What a story! A new engine and a really cool article featuring your 928 are surely happy endings.
What's "fettling"? I think I recall seeing a movie clip in which Pamela Anderson was doing some fettling, but that's a whole other topic.
