Default Fuel & Temperature gauge problem

Hello all,
I recently finished a fuel pump and filter change on my 82 US 5 speed that kept my car out of commission for a month or so (no heat in garage). When I got the car back up and running the fuel and temperature gauges are pegged at the top. I have checked to make sure they are connected well. They are all or nothing. I also noticed a slight move in the fuel gauge when the turn signal is on. I thought fuel level sender, but why would that affect the temp gauge? Do these share something in common besides the face of the gauge?
Thanks for any help.

Doesn't Alan always say if two independent circuits interact it's usually a ground problem?

Good point Aryan, thanks. I have my WSM disk, and I am having a very hard time making out where the grounds are coming from and going to. Would someone be kind enough to decipher?
Thanks so much,

Bob - there is a ground dehind the pod that the pod connections go to - could also just be poor connections on the pod connectors - clean them up (erase) and make sure they are seated well when you reinstall...

I also have pegged Temp and Fuel gauges in an '81 auto that I'm bringing back to life. I've had the cluster out a number of times cleaning and checking and I've also checked the fuel and temp sending units. When I disconnect the temp sending unit the temp guage goes to 0 and the fuel gauge stays pegged. When I disconnect the fuel sending unit the fuel gauge goes to 0 and the temp gauge stays pegged. The ground point for the cluster looks good as well. Robot808 did you ever solve your problem? Anyone else have ideas?

Boatman, I am sorry to say that my answer ended up being buying a whole new instrument cluster. I had worked on trying to get all the gauges working at the same time for 2 solid years. I could this to work, but then that would stop working. Drove me crazy. A lister (Brendan C) sold me a whole new (to me) cluster and everything has been great since.
I wish I knew how to fix yours, but perhaps Alan will chime back in. He is a rock star, it is my opinion there is not an electrical problem he can't solve (as long as he is given all the info he needs).
