Tony,

I removed the PCV valve, and capped both cam cover ports. I reused the original aluminum baffle (using silicone to glue it back on).

When I get around to changing the cam cover gaskets, I will probably do as Keith/928ntslow did, and move the front 1-4 breather port over to the rear of the 5-8 cover, and run a hose between them, but I would add a T in the middle, for a third breather point. If I was using a vapor extractor, I'd connect the T to the airbox for an inlet.

Louie thinks, and I agree, that the cam cover ports should really only be for inlet air, with all the vapors being extracted at the oil fill opening. (I only recall one person using a real vacuum pump, so far.) I tried using the stock airpump output, run through a crude air amplifier, to pull a small vacuum in the crank. I plan to try this again sometime, with a better(?) design, but using it to pull air through the engine, not trying to pull a vacuum.

Here's how I approached this and this is a partial repost from the twinscrew thread.

This setup has proved itself at over a dozen track days this year.

To start is the oil baffle, you will need build a basic baffle under the crankcover as a starting point. The small 3/8 inch line does not provide enough sizing to reduce the crankcase pressure. I have sized the crank cover to accept a 1 inch inside diameter hose.

One other issue was oil filling with the SC setup. I found a nice looking oil filler neck and grafted it to the driver side valve cover. I am pulling fresh air into this side of the motor in an effort to flush out the contaminants. There is a 0 cracking pressure check valve in place with a pickup filter in the high pressure area below the windshield.

I ran the discharge line from the Provent into a catch can in the driver side fender well just to be safe ...but after two full track days there was not a single drop of oil.....so I have now placed the discharge line into the low pressure area under the car in order (with a v shaped cut on the end) to provide additional vacuum draw through the Provent. The oil in the Provent is routed to the oil pan via a T in the dip stick.

So to summarize I am pulling crank case ventilation from a 1 inch line at the crank cover plus the 2-3/8 lines from the passenger side. I am bringing fresh air into the drivers side via the oil fill. With 10 PSI boost for very long sustained periods of time, I have no oil in the intake, no smoke and no oil in the to atmosphere line.

We've had one for many years https://www.928gt.com/pc-25979-1403-...for-87-92.aspx

.... BUT I feel the ProVent setup is much more efffective, easier and less labor to install, and definitely cheaper.

Great reply!!! Since my track shark is burning-loosing 1/4 quart per 20 minute run session, I need to find a better system.....but I haven't seen any white smoke out the exhaust and nobody said anything to me about it?
