Question Checking MAF?

I've only just realised what a MAF is! I've also been told that it should be checked every few years? What can go wrong with it? What difference does it really make???

Cheers
Simon

when it starts to fail the car doesnt run properly as the AFR is all out of whack,

You could go see John Speak and see how bad yours is.

+1 - John Speake is in your neck of the woods (Cambridge, England, four hours away according to Google Maps).

I would look him up, test your MAF and re-calibrate if necessary:

and http://www.jdsporsche.com/faq.html

I can check the calibration of your MAF for a nominal fee.

With an old MAF I could only manage 120mph, probably means there was less than 200bhp.
