Default Disconnected ground wire

86 Auto: I have a disconnected ground wire about 14 inches long, heavy black, lugged on both ends, and connected to ground on the passenger side fender. Where does the engine side lug fasten. Thanks in advance.

If bolted near the coil, then the other end should go to the engine block. On the 16v Euro it goes to the head.

that wire is usually connected from the coil securing screw to the engine lifting lug, make sure that there is also a similar wire on the other cylinder head both of the coils should have this ground connection

Thanks all. The coil was hanging loose too so all will be good when I find the hole in the engine lifting lug.

Engine lifting lug is the securing point for the right hand coil ground and the left side is secured to the lower allen bolt on the back side of the timing cover. Both of the other sides of the wire are secured with the bolt thats used to secure the coil bracket
