Default They got it close!!!

Been playing with photoshop on and off throughout the holidays

Image really speaks for itself when i say that whenever they make the two door version it will be sweet!... they were well ahead of their time with the 928.

All i did in the image below was overlay the Panamera with the 4 door 928 at about 60% transparency. I got the wheel base as close as i could (panemara is obviusly longer...but not much it seemed) then placed the front door handle of the panamera OVER the front door handle of the 928 and simpley copied it.

A 2 door Panemera IMHO is a certain truth to come...it wont carry the 928 designation (although ya never know)...but its genetics will be undeniable!

Anyway it suprised me how close the lines really are!

Great work! You can really see the 928 breeding in the Panamera lines. it's a shame they gave up on the Shark when they did. I think a 4 door version could have been a reality. I wonder why no one has tried to make a 928 Sedan? Thanks again for the effort.

Nice work!

As many of us already know, the 928 is way ahead of it's time.

Nice work, Tony. I really like the look of the 2-door concept that you did. If you scroll from your concept to the 4 door image, the 4 door looks much heavier and more bloated with that Crossfire looking sloping roofline.
But my gut tells me that Porsche won't reuse some of the most unique styling cues from the 928 in any of their new designs - like the forward-leaning roof pillar and quarter windows. Those are a few things that make the 928 so unique looking, IMO.
My bet would be that a 2 door version would take the same rooflines from the 4 door - simply moved forward, making it look more like their other current models.

Good work Tony!

Makes it even more neat seeing your Panamera comparison to know that I got to spend lots of time up close & personal with the 4 door 928 last year at the Amelia Island Concourse.

Now if only the Panamera could have the suicide doors!!!

Come to think of it, I was speaking with the head of the service department at Brumos Porsche once & that subject came up, suicide doors. He said Porsche would never have them on a factory car due to the potential safety factors on a high speed car with doors opening to the rear.

That really looks GOOD ! Gives it some personality with the B pillar 928 treatment.

Your Panamera/928 2 door looks fantastic, maybe you should go to work for Porsche. Great Job!

Tony, I LIKE the two door conceptchop. Now.... lengthen the nose a bit and move the front wheels further forward so that the motor can move aft of the wheel axis to get some weight off the front. That way when we lighten it up for racing we won't end up with something as nose heavy.

The comparison photos on the 4 doors shows how the use of more glass in the rear would have made the Panamera look tons better. Really eases the over-inflated-butt appearance.

Exactly. Unfortunately, for some reason the general consumer in the US just can't stand a hatchback. A car with a trunk is somehow viewed as more upscale. Many manufacturers in the late 90's and early 2000 that still wanted to make hatchbacks tried as hard as they could to hide the back and make it look more like a trunk. Usually this means completely deleting the quarter windows and replacing with metal. I guess this stupid trend continues today.
