Um Mr. Lowmiles? A couple of people have offered to talk to you if you simply send them a PM - a private message. You reply by asking them more questions or demanding they get in touch with you.

If you are serious, it might make sense to do what they're suggesting, since YOU are the one who wants a car...

Here's a thought. Why not explain exactly what you are looking for and the kind of money you are willing to pay for it.

You are talking to several people who either have, or have knowledge of some very pristine 928's.

Are you looking for a perfect pre-86, dead nuts factory original with less than 1000 miles and you're willing to spend 60 large for it?

Are you looking for a well preserved late 80's S4 with prudent updates and 30k miles for $20k?

Do you need a stick shift GTS from 1995 within 100 VIN's of the final car and an all leather interior that's never been driven for $100k?

You seem to wanna make everyone else come to you, and it's kinda making you look like you're not very serious since you're the one shopping for a car.... supposedly.

Most of the people you are talking to have no particular need to sell and since you can't be troubled to be the least bit specific about your needs nor what you're willing to pay, they're not taking you very seriously.

If you actually want a rare 928, it would be in your own best interest to reach out to the people who HAVE them.

What KIND of 928 do you need? S, S4, GT, GTS are wildly different cars. Are you looking for a concours queen that needs to arrive on a trailer, or do you want something you can drive? Do you prefer rarity, or condition? Would you take a flawlessly restored 87 S4 with 50k miles on it over an perfect-original-sitting-on-the-original-tires 79 which can't really be driven because most of the moving parts haven't moved in two decades?

Do you even want a 928, since you're also asking for 944's and 968'?

Rixter has a low mileage '95 968. I can't remember if it was a 5-spd or tiptronic. I don't think it is as low as 5500 miles, but it is low miles and in concours condition. Color is white with chestnut interior. Search his name and contact him. He mentioned selling it this spring.

Or choke out some serious cash for this GTS:

Paypal me $1000 finder's fee.

Perhaps you could make the introduction.

I believe the problem you are having here is that "I don't care" piece of your requirements.

People on this board tend to actually be passionate about their 928's and aren't that excited about a guy who simply wants a "pristine" one no matter what it actually is kinda turns them off, especially when his one and only reply to repeated sincere leads on cars is that he needs to be spoon fed instead of lifting one finger to do a simple search.

PS if you simply want something in stunning low mile quality that's collectible, sit down and actually TALK to Chuck Z who has exactly that, but who probably wants many tens of thousands for it. Doing business with him may involve actually knowing some info about what he has, why the seats in it have that funny checker pattern, and how many other cars in similar condition exist on the planet...

Why not trying someone like Willhoit? Michael always seems to have a few nice 928s for sale and is known for having low mileage cars. I'm sure if he doesn't have what you're looking for, he could find you one. (full disclosure, I'm affiliated as Michael is a sponsor of my site. Doesn't change the quality of his cars though)

There were no 928s delivered from the Porsche factory with pink polka dot color scheme nor a 3-speed transmission.

It seems you may not know the 928 heritage all that well.

I'm having a vision of some guy wandering into a bar and barging into a group of long time locals who were talking amongst themselves.

"I wanna girl darn it. Find me one! She better be HOT! and young!"

"um... what kind of girl were you looking for?"

"Anything - just hot and young. I know you guys must know some. Introduce me!"

"well... Angela's in here usually on Thursday's and she's amazing, but she also has a thing for diamonds in the 4 carat category... She tends to sit at that table over there..."

"So introduce me already!"

".... um... we just told you where to find her"
