Default 1989 Gt, dash lights go off when switch on headlights?

Hello,

I have a 1989 Gt where the dashlights work as long as you don't turn the switch for the headlights, if you do to have the headlights on, the dash light goes out.
Have anybody experienced this, and have a solution?
I tried to search, but didn't come up with info on this.
Regards
Boerge

Its most likely a faulty potentiometer for dimming the dash lights - a common failure on 928's (it could even just be turned all the way down). My 89 had the same issue when I got it.

Turn the lights on, then roll the dimmer control all the way to each end of its travel - chances are its got corrosion thats inhibiting current flow but you might at least get some light.

Dimmer. Roll it away a bit from full-stop and the dash lights may work.
