You guys are harsh... So, if you buy a nice 928 clean it up and make it even nicer you should not be able to sell it and make a profit... What is wrong with you guys??? I'd do that all freaking day long if I could. You do realize the more he sells a nice car for the more you guys POS 928's are worth too more than likely...because the market at large will see a NICE 928 is worth so much that a cheap one still has to be worth a lot. You ought to thank him for getting top dollar for the cars we love so dearly instead of deriding him...

Yup thats low miler.....but it sure does look nice and he has fixed all the common trouble areas along with what looks like a top notch restoration.....I hope he gets a great price for it...since it does appear to be worth it..... It does look like new carpet too.... I'm sure its much better in person than pictures....
On that note I do think it would be capable of a high finish in "preservation" class with minimal prep work....

Agree with Brian that it's not a concours car but it certainly is a very very nice GT and worth some good $$. I also hope Todd gets top dollar for the car. It's not everyday that a well sorted 928 comes up for sale which doesn't need cosmetic or mechanical work.

In my opinion, the number one reason in 928 history for low prices is just exactly what James has written here......
Every time a 928 comes up for sale, whether it be a basket case or show room quality, the critics appear and talk down the price (and sometimes the owner).
Todd does so much for the 928 community as a whole, he should be praised for his work, not put down. I too, thought this car was pricing to low, but then quickly realized there was still 8 days left on the auction. It will surely bring top dollar as his cars usually do, and that helps all of us in the great scheme of things.
If you want your 928 values to rise, then recycle the bad ones and keep your mouth shut about the good ones-----

So what if we're harsh, really. RL makes up an extremely small cross-section of the overall buyers market for a car like this.
We are like a couple of old turds sitting in the corner, rippin' on how the kids dance.
Harsh is one thing and thankful is another. And yes, I am thankful for folks like Lowmiler.

That's what jumped out at me. If I were a potential buyer who was very picky about details & I didn't know that Todd has a rep. for high standards for his cars, I'd be leery of this description.
Isn't this very detailed description written to appeal to astute, detail oriented buyers?
I wouldn't say that pointing out his embellishment is harsh....more like astute.
"Goliath trash"....now that's harsh. But it's the use of his descriptive terms, such as 'rotisserie restoration' and "will easily win all local and regional concours events and compete evenly on a national level" that invite harsh criticism. Misstatements or exaggerations like these put doubt in my mind about what is likely a very nice GT.
If he were to temper his descriptions a bit, it might help to soften the harsh comments about his listings.

I've also questioned Todd's description of the car. He did similar on another 928 with custom interior which again wouldn't win a concours but it was a very nice car.
I think the average buyer may not realize the difference but then again the average buyer probably isn't going to show the car either. They will probably point out to their buddy or neighbor that the car was restored and is show pedigree.

Up to $20K, not bad so far.
Curious where it will end.
