928s were a gateway drug for me.

Now I'm a total Porschaholic. I still have two running 928s, but I've got the jitters.

Two cars, three forums, and it's not enough. How did it come to this ?

My name is David and I really don't think I have a problem. I only use 928s in social situtations they help me to loosen up and make friends. Sometimes I use them to unwind at the end of a hard day........but never in the morning. I really only use 928s when I'm alone or with someone. That's not really a problem......is it?

My name is Mike...I don't think I'm an addict. I have but one 928 but find myself looking for a companion for her. It can't be due the lack of required attention as my current MY has kept me plenty busy.

Alas, I confess...I'm a glutton for satisfaction! I admire the model and have even more fun making right what others have let go wrong.

My name is Mike and I AM an addict

I'm not addicted either.

I did just spend the last 3 days on my back under the damn thing doing MM's, Pan gasket, pan stud kit, and new rack. Of course I had to clean everything I could while I was there. Never know when someone will look under it as well and go "oooooooo so clean"

Once the locktite dries I'll go back out and put the oil pan back on.

Naah I am not an addict
My name is Marton, i have only one 1981 928s - I am not an addict.
About the same time I bought a Mustang 5.0
The Mustang had about 6K Km on the clock & now has 160K.
The 928 had about 90K Km on the clock & now has 160K.

The 928 does not have more problems than the Mustang & does not take longer to fix. Of course the 928 sometimes needs special tools or parts that take time to get & some problems take a while like the clutch problem I had all this year since changing the cylinders.
Thinking about dropping & cleaning the clutch pack & trying the adjustment shown in the WSM.

& I would never take the Mustang on the Ring..

Help, help. help

Marton

....its kind of silver. Or grey. Actually, I'm not sure, haven't seen it yet. It might be pewter. Naw, doesn't need a PPI, thats only for the real good ones.

Well, the other three are red. We don't have a grey one, I think it will look good next the red ones. Make their color pop....

Umm, well, no, its ours already, I thought you already knew that, we just need to send the check. Hey, you wanna go with me to pick it up? We could eat-out along the way....maybe stop at the inner harbor in Baltimore for a while....stop hitting me!

Hi, My name is Tim and I am not addicted, obsessed, yes but not addicted.

Oh heck, I'm addicted and proud of it!! I've also owned a TR-7 and a Cosworth Vega among other cars so maybe I'm just eccentric.

I just read what I typed and all I can say is I am in denial...but i love my 928.

My name is Don and I'm not a sharkaholic.
I don't spend hours in the middle of the night on fleabay trying to snipe 928 stuff that doesn't even fit my car or accessories I don't need.
I haven't started it up and sat in it during a blizzard listening to the radio, planning on how soon enough snow will melt so I can take a drive again.
I don't clean the nooks and crannys with a q tip to get out old dust that no one can see.
I don't work on my car at 2 a.m. with a flashlight in the driveway.
I don't have a long list of 'improvements' consisting of various things from Carl, Dave, Ken, Mark and Roger (in alphabetical order).
I don't put off buying things because I can't decide which I want, such as Koni's, Bilsteins or Boges.
I don't keep a volume of the print version of the shop manual as my 'throne' reading material instead of Maxim.
I don't have a six foot poster of a black 928 instead of a pic of Megan Fox framed on my wall.
I don't buy my car a bottle of Techron because the Autozone is next to the pizzaria and figure if I'm enjoying a pie, my car can enjoy a bottle of snake oil and think to myself that she idles just a bit smoother.
I haven't spent entire nights reading Greg Nichols pages of tips till my eyes closed,
and haven't had so many open tabs of firefox that I couldn't navigate my way back.
I haven't gone through the entire random 928 picture thread more than once.
I do not have more saved 928 web pages than pages of hot chicks (yet).
I never forget she's just a car and apologise when I accidently scrape the front spoiler on an incline that's a little higher than I thought it was.
And I never grin maniacally when I take a turn on my favorite rides faster than I have the last time.
I will deny doing any of this unless actually cought in the act.
I am not a sharkaholic.

Hi,

My name is David and I am proud to be a Sharkoholic for at least 20 years..:-)

Luckily I got my current wife Jeannie addicted to them also and that keeps harmony in the family. BTW, the wife before her didn't like them except to brag to her college friends about owning a "Porsche", dumped her, kept the 928s, got a better wife in the process :-).. Heck even my dog Thor is addicted and loves to ride in 928s!

We are so addicted to them we have had to talk to other 928 addicts all day long every day for the past 13 years or so.... I have learned addiction is more fun when shared with other addicts!!
