Default 928 S4 Engined Powerboat (Twin Turbo ?)

Posted these in the random pic thread but I thought they might warrant their own thread if only just for Search purposes. I know no more about the boat than what the photos show - it was hung from the roof so I couldn't get close but I think it could be a Twin Turbo.

From the collection of Manoir de l'Automobile in Loheac, 25 miles SW of Rennes in Northern France.
http://www.manoir-automobile.fr/welcome/index.php
Google Maps - Loheac France to see where it is

A worthwhile visit if you're in that part of france - and at 80 Euros for the day a keen price for a track day.

They also had another "boring" S4 (that had the obligatory sump gasket leak, shrinking dashboard leather etc.) among a nice collection of F1 cars some group B rally cars and other old stuff

Im sure its air to water I/C...just scoops up the water from a pick up somewhere underneath or on the slipstream of the prop. then dumps it right overboard...doesnt circulate. The air intakes appear to be the bell mouth shaped openings near the top/front...no filters in these pics

Here is a rare opportunity to own one of the three ever built FA Porsche designed Kineo 27s and she has been rigged with a brand new 2008 Porsche powerplant.

This high performance vessel has James Bond written all over it. She looks stealth, yet runs strong with a BRAND NEW 2008 engine with zero hours.

This Porsche built hull with true Porsche power is a true classic and one of three ever made and the only one with Porsche power. She gets up and goes quickly, topping out aroudn 75 MPH.

This is a unique high-end vessel looking for the right home - truly a collectors item. Own a piece of Porsche history!

She would certainly make a highly impressive tender for a mega yacht or could be used as a stand alone Poker Run machine.

there is a web site with more details about the boat but not the 928 motor.
http://porschedesignboat.com/index.php?sid=1

It implies the 928 motor provided less than 69 nautical miles per hour.

One was for sale last year for less than $100K & fitted with volvo motors, original 928 motor was also inclided.
"Porsche Marine (USA) Kineo REF#1668417 US$ 97,846 GBP 66,080
negotiable.

Also found the following
"An entertaining & very knowledgable British chap by the name of Mike Nicholson(who now lives in Canada) engineered the marinization of the engine & drive system. Or should I say tried to. If you would like a more detailed synopsis of this past creation, you can contact Mike at his now famous, "GeoGraphics Motorsports" offshore powerboat painting & design studio in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. His website and address is: www.coolgrafix.net"

Better photo of the 928 motor here

Marton, the pictures of the boat you just linked to show a naturally asperated 928 S4 engine, as is shown by the 290 PS at the top of the page.

The pictures and link provided by jon928SE show that is a twin turbocharged 928 S4 engine.

It is not suprising that the NA boat only was able to achieve 70 knots/hr, the twin turboed 928S4 powered boat is a completely different animal and would be able to achieve a MUCH faster speed.

Brain, the boat in the origonal post would have achieved its 550 HP simply due to the turbos.

We seem to be talking about different things.
Jon's post shows a single seat race boat with a turbo motor.
Martin posted about a Kineo 27 which is a 2 seater. This also claims 550hp but the photo shows a non turbo motor (labelled as fridge??).

Here is video of the kineo 27 in action

The link of the video that you posted Marton shows part way that a roots SC has been added to whatever engine is in it.
