Hey Jim!

I knew the gear box that came with car was wrong, but THIS WRONG I plan to change the bearings, and sell it. Any idea what it could be worth?

Hey again Jim

It`s just that my car is a 91 If I`m not mistaken I want/need a G28/12 or a G28/55 unit. Anyone got one for sale?

It's not bad except for the puny synchros Bummer that your late model came with it.

Hey Dan !

My car was basically a parts car when I bought it. It`s fairly complete but without an engine, and some mixed & matched parts here and there

Is it possible to upgrade the differntial on the G28/07 with LSD?

I happen to have a working G28/08 w/ LSD in the box ready to ship for $950 USD plus shipping costs. I pulled it out of my '81 and it was an upgrade from the original G28/05 that she came with ...

I'm pretty sure you can add LSD to any 928 transmission without much trouble. In fact, I think Carl at 928 Motorsports now sells a kit for this. But then you would still be stuck with the old crappy synchros. Even if you ripped the tranny apart and installed new ones, they would not last that long if you like to shift fast.

Thanx, that sounds like a fair price, but I will try to find one a bit closer to Norway. If all fails I`ll contact you. Do you think it would be a good choice for racing?

I guess shifting fast is something you want to able to do when you go racing, right

V8 MAN, go for a surch for a '85 or newer transaxle... don't care for the LSD... as you better install a set as from 928M.... i did, must still install the set, but wanne try first the bought '88 gearbox . Seems those 'better' boxes have a worse LSD... only 20 % ?

I have had two BMW's with 25% ZF LSD. Every working later 928 LSD I have seen have had clearly tighter feel than those BMW setups. I simply don't buy this 20% thing no matter what anyone says unless some clear documentation can be found which proves it. Its true that late LSD can't be rebuild to 80% by changing parts like early style can but thats different thing. In any case, even 20% is better than nothing and much above 40% is too much.
