those look like some nice rollers and parts

if your not using those i maybe interested in buying them if they would fit an S3 engine.

Werent you going to put the OE stuff back on the stroker though?

Larry-

Don't you think I would have taken the tare weight of the bags into consideration?

Ryan-

The tensioner is going on the stroker. I bought another Porkensioner setup but Greg is more comfortable with the belt damping characteristics of the old tensioner if the motor backfires during the tuning process.

So I have a spare Porkensioner setup if/when a SoCal'r needs one and can't wait 3 days for Roger to ship it......

A backfire would not be handled better by the original tensioner. (I've talked to Greg about this previously via email.) There is no real damping with the stock tensioning system, and a cold original tensioner has the most trouble with belt tension. (Note the 3 minute delay with the tension light on startup!) The stock tensioner cannot increase tension, only decrease.

The PKsn'r Audi tensioner/dampener will extend immediately to take up cold engine belt tension (the engine is dimensionally smaller when cold), and takes longer to retract when cold, slowing detensioning. The only way I've been able to think of that rotating backwards would be a problem is if you rotated the engine CCW for a few minutes (longer when cold - putting constant pressure on the damper as if the belt was overtensioned), then suddenly rotated the engine CW.

The PKsn'r system is more robust than the stock system (more compact, stronger pivots, larger bearings) and so is able to handle higher shock loads, like a backfire.
