Gas Cap Won't Come Off
It's a 1982 928 Euro S
I searched the forums and the closest thing I could find was this:
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...lp-needed.html
I came back from college and drove my car around, then went to the gas station to get the cheap gas. (Who knew it'd ever go back down to a 1.45!) Well when I spun the cap counter clockwise to take it off, it gave some resistance than clicked. Normally it would only click when tightening the gas cap clockwise, but now its doing it both ways. I tried locking and unlocking it with a key, nothing. Any advice?
Thanks

The "Gas axe" seems a little extreme to me ??.., each to their own I suppose,....., however a friend of mine had the same problem on his 928, and as in the posts you found, managed to release it with plenty of penetrating oil, and then a few drops of engine oil, once he got it off he did,nt trust it again and bought a new cap......, failing this you could try the drill method, as described.
Good luck !

928 International may have a used cap for half price take it apart and you can swap out the lock cylinders to use your old key, by dipping the cap in boiling water it will make it soft enough to stretch over the retaining prongs do a search for gas caps

Pull off the right rear wheel. Remove the inner fender liner. Remove the 4 bolts that hold on the rubber gas connection shield (has a drain tube attached to it).
At this point you can see the inner part of the gas cap where it screws into the fuel tank. You may be able to twist off the gas cap from the inside this way.

Had the same problem, and I used a Craftsman strap wrench. Like it was made for the job, super easy. Once it's off you likely have an issue with the pawl. Do a search for gas cap pawl and you'll find lots of info.
