I'll take a pair of those ... celebrating no more "Tail Lamp Failure" or "Brake Pads Service" messages on the dash display. Must be making some headway on the electronics, so these will keep the momentum going ...

Hey Rog,
I'm interested but would like to read up on the "dielectric grease solution" I'm in a '90 and really tired of "Living Retarded"! Can you direct me to a source?
Thanks,
Rob.

Rob,
I know you can buy it on line but should also be available at Radio Shack or a similar store in Canada.
It is a spray or gel that protects the surfaces of the connectors from corrosion.

Hi Rog, sorry I should have been more specific.....I know what the grease is...I've got lots in the garage. What I'm wondering about is if the sensors will indeed work on my '90. And why the grease is required to make them work? I've also mysteriously acquired a supply of DeOxit (all flavors) and strangely enough, the "christmas tree on my dashboard has disappeared.....

If that's for me, I 'm guessing we're going to get to know each other VERY well in the coming months....Let the games begin!

Before spring up here in the "Great White North" I'm looking at....and in no particular order....Steering rack and associated bushing/hoses and hopefully a high pressure pump....motor mounts....tranny mounts.....and yes, last but not least, the infamous intake refresh with all new sensors. Oh yeah, and I've got to check the flexplate just for good measure......all I'd need would be a bad case of TBF Type I or Type II (Timing belt or Thrust bearing) after doing all the other items. On the other hand, I picked up the car for what i considered a reasonable price so I'm not complaining too loudly. On the assumption that I'll be divorced by the time I finish two or three of the above, I should have lots of free time (and not much cash) to get the jobs done.

Rob - aka 928 at last.
They will work fine on your 90. They have gold plated terminals which are different to the 87 to 90 knock sensors. The dielectric grease is to protect from the effects of disimilar metals thats all.
Probably do not need it really - just being safe.
