thanks for the info. Is there somewhere i can find a list of those 'rubber bits' and hoses etc? The current owner says it runs...ok...with the maf unplugged. The one problem i'm having is the nightmare paper trail of owners and bill of sales.

If it's really a US '83, it -might- idle OK with airflow sensor unplugged.

Cruise the new visitors thread for some on purchase guidance. My standard guidance on the rubber stuff is to budget $5k min for the parts, with you supplying the labor. Once you have the car, you'll ring one of our great 928 model-centric vendors with your project name, and they's build you a care package for that task including a lot of the WYAIT stuff you'll want for the things you discover along the way.
