Default Newbie to Rennlist and the 928 world from Florida

I wanted to introduce myself and show off my new baby.

1987 GP White/dark blue 928S4 A4. Build date of 10/86. It was a 2 owner car with 83K on it with most of the service records.

It has what looks to be 1994 928 GTS wheels and from the service records new Bilstein coil-overs installed. I just replaced the 10 year old Nittos (that's how little it has been driven) with new Falken RT-615s (225/255) and will install EBC Yellow brake pads front and rear and flush and fill with ATE Blue high temp brake fluid.

Car drives great and I have always loved the 928 from the 1st time I saw one.

Here are a few novice pics:

Welcome aboard. Nice car! Looks like it was well taken care of. Now that you've got it home and are considering getting maintanence up to spec.... look it over really good. Dig in and look at all the bits, familiarize yourself with you car. You will start noticing things you hadn't noticed when you were in the euphoric buying stage. Review you maintanence records and determine a game plan. Fluids and filters are a good start. Check vaccuum connections. Check for oil leaks, find there source. Check rubber hoses, esp fuel lines. +1 on TB service verification.
That S4 really looks good.

Yes they are - I have a set just like those. Made in Japan, very good quality wheels.

If you ever want to sell those, please look me up since I would like a second set. The person who sold me mine is still mad I bought them!

Great looking car, welcome to the Shark Tank!

Very nice! Really clean car.

Congratulations and wipe that smile off your face (or not ).

I'd go with the above suggestions and a check and release of the flex plate tension for the trans.

Good luck!

Thanks for the welcomes! The timing belt was checked by a 928 guy in Orlando about 4-5 months ago and he said it had about 15K left on it before a needed change and based on the service records it was checked at 73K as well. This is a quick list of what was done at 72K and 73K by the original owner getting it ready to sell:

Dist caps and rotors @ 72K
Valve cover gaskets “
All belts “
Tranny filter & gaskets “
Breather hoses “
Coil overs “
A/C receiver/dryer “
Tranny seal kit “
Fuel pump & regulator “
P/S pump “
Intake manifold gaskets “
EFI ECU”
Brake master cylinder “
Rear brake pads @ 73.8K
Service ABS “
R&R a/c expansion valves, heater control valve “

I just did a tranny flush, diff service, and Mobile 1. The brake pads and fluid will be done next week. I'll inquire about the flex plate tension. The tranny shifts nice and tight but it does seem to take a little longer to go into gear then my other automatic (Range Rover).

I think I saw your Monaro at Bradenton, I remember someone pointing out a GTO in the pit lane but then saying it was a Monaro.

Nice 928 and welcome.
