Mark says he'll be offering rides in his beautiful mid-mount turbo and might even allow a brief try behind the wheel... just not for me!

Last time I drove the car it intimidated me so bad I searched out a curb stop to run up on and knocked a hose off the IC!

She's a looker and a runner!

well, as usual we were fashionably late, but were glad see everyone that was there.

we didn't bring the Euro, as it's in pieces and there's no telling when it will start to go back together (busy with everything else), but I brought my S4 wing just so I wouldn't feel totally out of place.

Thanks to Roger for bringing the parts to finish buttoning up my Euro engine's bottom end (I need to find some more money to spend with you)--

Thanks to Sean for loaning his tools for the boys to tune their skateboards (a lifesaving event!!!)--

Thanks to Mark for giving the boys a ride of their young lives, convincing them that no..... a tuner car isn't nearly what a turbo-ed 928 is--

Nice to finally meet you James, as I said to you, I'm always impressed when a person with challenges makes some really cool tools to overcome them. (one day I'll bring the boys over when you're doing track duty, and maybe you'll give them a hot lap that will suck the pants off them....)

(and the brisket was pretty good too)

Russ,

Good to meet you as well! Excellent group for a first try! It was nice to see 4 GTS's in the parking lot together! That is something you don't see everyday! Nearly 1% of TOTAL GTS US production right there in the parking lot together!

Thanks to all for coming out and especially you D/FW guys (and Russ!) for making the trip in! I know it was a long drive, I hope you made it safely and enjoyed it a bit as well! We really appreciate your support down here!

Best to you all! Looking forward to some pics soon!

Agreed - it was a nice day and a nice group. James and I were recalling the first time we organized a 928 GTG and that was 12 years ago! And if I remember correctly, James' '88 was the newest car to show up back then, so it really was neat seeing all the GTS' today.

Thanks to everyone that came out - I enjoyed meeting all of you.

Yep James, nothing like good numbers!

The derive is no big deal for me (glad Deb came along, 'cause I got a nap!) even though I do it for a living---sometimes.

we'd be glad to do it again--

below are some pics---well, I thought they'd load--better start over.

tried again to download the pics, but it ain't happening (???) I get two or three to setup, and then the darn things disappear on the attachment list.....oh, well. I'll try again 2moro.

Tim, glad you made it home with out blowing up totally. Now share with us the drive home.

I'll post pics and more stuff after I've had a few cups of joe.

Well the OB may have earned her name on the was home.
It seriously needs new plugs and wires. It is currently running on less than 8 cylinders. So it is dumping a lot of fuel into the exhaust.
At a busy light in Lakeway it shot a huge fireball out of the tail pipe right in front of the local police chief. I pulled over, 2 mins later I had three cops with a fire truck on the way. The car was not on fire, nor had any other damage from the problem. I have an all new exhaust coming anyway.

Had it towed home. We got home about the same time as another flatbed showed up with my new '88 parts car. My neighbors are started to stare.
So I think she will be the Fireball from now on.

It was great fun meeting all of you guys, and seeing your gorgeous cars. Thanks again for all the DFW guys driving down. Just to help along too, if any of you guys want to just hang out and grab a drink or a meal sometime, just call me, 214-354-8876. I'll answer to Korwen, but David works too.

Great meeting you David. I think after spending 6 hours in Jims GTS, he is rethinking the Corvette thing.

Russ, it was much nicer hanging out with you as opposed to shooting barbs and BS over the keyboards, let's make a point of keeping it this way. Much more enjoyable. Now you can take me off ignore :P
Oh, tell your kids not to call me "Sir" that scared the hell out of me, I'm not old enough to be a sir, and I'm glad the tools got some use, was a pleasure.
