Default how to clean injectors off the car?

I just removed the whole intake from my S4, and want to know how i can clean the injectors.
I found this useful link:

https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...light=injector

But I don’t see how I can use the battery charger to open and close the injector tip.
Has any one done this before? And did it make a difference.

I did not check out the Pelican doc as there is a thread here citing Porsche specs about flow rate and spray pattern; involves a jig to hold the injector and measuring the diameter of the pattern, etc. that would be particular to our 30 lb (?) injectors. People not prepared to do that procedure usu send them out for cleaning and balancing to a shop experienced in same. I went with Cruise Int'l in MI. He turned them around in a week with documentation on the pattern, etc.

Ebay is also full off already "refurbished/cleaned" 19lb Bosch/Ford injectors.

Well I don’t have any problems with the ones I have. I’m just doing some maintenance on the engine, and thought maybe it would be a good idea to clean the injectors.

Yes, it was a WYIT during a valve cover gasket R&R. I would add .02, that I wish I had powder coated the intake, etc while I had it off. Also the cam chain tensioner pads. They are not that bad at 90K, and it's not such a terrible task, but I didn't enjoy wrestling w/the injectors.

if the injectors are off why not just buy a new set and your car will run better than when you took it apart the 4 hole injectors are an upgrade and they wont be 20 years old

+1 on new injectors. You can not know if they are flowing properly unless you test them under pressure (Whitch Hunter) So why not spend the $ now on new ones. Like the old commercial slogan goes "Pay me now or pay me later"
I was glad to go the "new" route recently should be good for another 100K.

to open the injectors just use a 9v battery with some alligator clips. dont leave the power to the injectors on for more than a few times a second or you risk burning up the injector solenoid. use B-12 to clean the injectors. I did this and had good results.

If you don't really want to replace the injectors, send them out to be cleaned. Don't go thru the trouble of building a rig and cleaning them yourself.
Whichhunter will ultrasonically clean them, R&R the internal filter screen and flow check them. They'll be as good as new and for $15/ea you can't go wrong.
I did it the hard way and ended up sending them out anyway.

I sent 4 to Witch Hunter also a few weeks ago, here's a link that has a few starting pictures, then later a few ending pictures.

I think they cost $18 each to refurb including the seal kits.
