cost of ownership
Hmmm, why do these articles always complain about the cost of upkeep? I know if you can't spin your own wrench that you're in $trouble$, but thanks to Rennlist and the vendors here my 928 has been, part-for-part, less expensive than many domestics.....including the common-as-dirt Chevy pickup a buddy has been bleeding money into (2001MY 1/2ton 4x4, no custom parts, and its hurtin' him bad....$4500 trans, $600 fuel pump, etc)
I agree totally Mike....I think as the lines got "cleaner" a bit of personality was lost...but then I am quite immature in that respect, and like the "boy racer" (wings, spoilers, flares) look. My shark has the big wing on the hatch, and the OB front spoiler.

Yeah, what's the cost of doing an air cooled 6 rebuild? Lots of 911 owners have paid dearly to keep their "simple reliable" 911 going.
928s are no different than any other 20 year old sports car, except that they are better built and drive better.

not a bad article, other than the "rather common" quote.....
Other than the few local 928's that I already know......I RARELY ever see one on the road.....
For example....my 2008 M3 coupe is also quite rare, but there are at least 2 others in town & probably more...but I would guess BMW build at least 10k M3's per year.......since mine is the #14?? built...

Thanks for posting!
It is always good to see the 928 get some publicity.

They have had several good things to say over the last six months or so about the 928. Well, articles might be to much, but I have posted several here lately just quoting what they had to say about out babies...

I wonder why they flagged just the 87 to 91??? What about the GTS? Or even the OB Euros???? What about the first year? ????..................Guys......one day these WILL be a desired car by collectors especially when others cars are sooo out of reach for the more common guys to own. But it may be awhile...and then when it happens.... none of then will be stock. Which is why I will pick one up maybe next year and keep it that way. Not for money but for a historic example.
