Hi, PM sent. If you need anymore pics let me know. Car Should be back with me in a week or two according to gearbox specialist. There are a few bits that are yet to be fitted - new kickdown relay, gearstick boot etc and i have two big history files.........i dare not total up the bills for the last 5 years in case my better half reads this (about 2k per year to get it where it is now......and counting.)

Burt, I thought you were keeping the car now, I was interested in it before just for the SC which I would have taken off & then sold your car on returned to stock, just didn't have quite enough money then. If John is interest in your car without the SC, maybe we can sought something out.

Funny thing is people will pass on cars with superchargers fitted, then buy and fit one themselves - never understood it? Same as people wanting completely stock cars - first things they do are change the wheels and fit aero mirrors..........

I can understand why to a certain extent on things like engine mods, as they then know how the conversion was done first hand and arnt relying on trusting someone else's work. It's all about feeling like you have control of whats going on. You see it all the time where people take the mods off cars, sell all the bits separately then someone buys that car and puts the same or similar bits back on. The tuning industry makes a fortune from this merry go round.
The other reason is people sometimes cant afford to buy the car as they want it at the full price, but can budget to build up the parts needed over the next year or two, so they at least have use of the car almost how they want it, with plans to get it there.

I hear what you're saying John. But........If I had to do it all over again knowing what I know now of the costs involved i'd have waited a couple of years till a supercharged car came up and saved my self £10K, numerous scraped knuckles and lost weekends

Yep, i know. I'm like you also in that i don't want to go through the hassle of stripping my well modified car back to a lower spec then selling the bits, it's a complete pain and also depressing as you feel all the work was wasted.

I build and run historic race cars for a living, most of my time is spent working on a mixture of McLaren M1B/C mid 60's Can Am small block cars plus a 1971 March 717 8.8 litre big block car. I also run a few saloons ranging from mid 50's MG Magnette, original Cooper S and a few mid 60's American V8 touring cars like the Ford Falcon Sprint and Mercury Comet Cyclone. The Can Am cars are my real passion, so it seemed appropriate.
