When I did the math the stock S4 front springs are around 250lb-in and the rears are around 175 lb-in

I have some crappy cd version of the WSM's. It is obviously lacking very much. Where is the best place to get the real thing these days?
I had no idea the WSM's were that extensive, I must be missing so much with this cd!!

Try Jim Morehouse , his CD is the best, plus it includes lots of other tidbits that are not in the WSM

Default Calculated from PET data

From PET I have calculated, for 1991 928 GT:

F: 257 ib (45N/mm), R: 186 ib (33N/mm).

I can not guarantee these numbers, I have just done som simple calculations based on information about spring dimensions and speccs presented in the PET.

WSM has them all except Club Sport front springs IIRR. They are just written in different format than what seems to be usual. Also they are obviously spring rates, not wheel rates and 928 suspension has somewhat odd ratio. There is link Kim Crumb's document somewhere in archives which gives this ratio for '78-86.0 (-'85 ROW) suspension. Since '86.5 front end is different I don't know if old number can be directly used for it too or not. Though its probably close enough for most purposes.

I have Weltmeister Sp-9200 in the front, company says 400-588 spring rate and lowers front one inch. Car seems a little rough over the bumps and have installed new Sacks in the rear. Can I use the stock Sacks with this or do I need to change the springs?

The S4 stuff is about 284 front and 185 rear. Pretty funny when a good set up is the 600/400 more than 100% stiffer... Also makes you think that any shock designed for stock springs will work like $hit with 600/400 or anything like that...
