Kinda off topic, but I just sent BrendanC a kit to use after market 6 caliper pistons on mid year sharks. New billet hat and cailper adaptors to use 12.19" x 1.25" rotors and 3.5" mount calipers on the front. Will work with the new Outlaw 6000dx 6 caliper piston which is leagues ahead of the Brembo stuff of the 90's. Lighter and runs cooler, and cost a lot less as well.

Some 6 piston calipers can use a longer pad, however since the 4000 and 6000 series use the same pads, the 6 piston in theory will only aide in keeping the pad more parallel to the rotor with a more consistant force across the entire pad instead of more force at the leading edge... in theory...
It may be spliting hairs for an occassional track car, it may end up just being cool and different with no major gains over the 4 caliper. Obviously 4 piston calipers can vary greatly from brand to brand and model to model.

i honestly wouldnt put those on my car just because of that terrible script thats cut into the sides of the calipers! YUCK!

I don't think that those calipers are going to be better than the 90s Brembo stuff, the reason is that all those joints in the Outlaw caliper are going to allow plenty of movement. While the Brembos are two piece they are very solid and have 4 rather large bolts, the quality of their parts is also first class I just can't see that the same R&D is in the Outlaw product.

My knowledge of Nascar is limited but my information says they use Brembo and Alcon, I haven't seen any outlaw calipers. Nascar guys aren't into saving money, not the top teams anyway.
My source of this info is my parts suppliers, I would be pretty confident that my car has more Nascar parts on it than any other Porsche. Race Tech Magazine also has quite a lot on Nascar although there is now a dedicated magazine called Cup Technology. I sorry but just have never seen these brakes in this field.
