Default Reverse backup lights died

Just bought my first 928 this weekend. It's a 928s 1984 euro 4-spd automatic. A red tail light was out, so I replaced it and it works again. There was still the schlusslicht warning on my dash. So I opened up the other rear light lens to check if it was 10 watt as well, it was. Then I read I should disconnect the battery to wipe the warning from the computers memory, done that. After that I found out the white reverse backup lights do not work anymore! Help!

I think it is not fuse number 9 because the rear wiper and electric mirrors are still working, they share that fuse according to the wire diagram. So I don't know it anymore! Maybe I broke something while replacing the red tail light. Maybe I blew a relay, no idea how to check that though. Maybe the battery disconnect fried something after reconnecting. Could someone please help?

check the spare tire well in the front right corner, there are wire harnesses that come through the well. If you want you can use the 83 wire diagram to find the wire colors so you check for continuity

hey cool, excellent tip! I did wip out the spare tire to disconnect the battery, so maybe I hit that wire! Didn't think of that, thanks Mrmerlin. Cool photo you got there by the way.

Update: SUCCESS!!! You were right Mrmerlin! It was a wire in the back just above the spare tire. I just fiddled with all the wires there and suddenly they went on and off at a certain one. The connector there was a bit faulty. I cleaned it and twisted it around and now it's solid again. Thanks a million cause I've been reading about horrid repairs about lifting the car to remove the exhaust to check the switch at the transmission. You're the best. I can't be happier!
