NGK non-projected electrode copper. Heat range is about the same as a Bosch 5-6. Gapped .022
OEM Beru - not brand new wires, not old and crusty either.
I'm ordering some bulk Kingsborne ignition wires and the ends to make my own. I'm waiting to talk to Todd, see if he wants to redo his wires so I can order enough for both of us.
This is the wire of choice for Ferrari owners. When I "discovered" 355 wires are $400+ I decided to make my own.
As for the timing question - I'll see if Todd wants to share his timing map. It's far from optimized (hard to max out timing when it's randomly running on 5-6 cylinders )
He found the information you sent about pistons very interesting. He's a project or two away from going down that road. When that happens he will probably give you a call.
On a plus note, his intake air temps are just a few ticks above ambient. His new IC works quite well.
Next step once the ignition is fixed will be ethanol injection and a spray for the IC.
