Default Anyone in Laredo, TX

I am in Laredo for the next 3 weeks. I was looking at the newspaper this morning and to my surprise there is a 1989 928 that will be auctioned this Saturday. Its only a few blocks from my hotel so I may have time to inspect the car before the auction. Anyone interested? It is a Public Aution so it may not be that good of a deal.

Careful, there. That car probably has enough drug residue in it to get half of Georgia high.

What on earth are you doing in Laredo? Aside from being safe we hope.

I am staying at La Posada hotel and that is pretty darn close to the border, probably less than 100 ft, lol.

I may be going to Harlingen, Brownsville and/or South Padre island this weekend but I am not sure. I will give you a call if I do.

I lived in Agauscalientes Mexico for 9 years and traveled thru Laredo many times, spending quite a bit of time there as well.
I just moved back to the States about 2 years ago. During my first 5 or 6 years there (1998 - 2003) Mexico in general and even at the Border towns was very safe and enjoyable. But in the past couple of years things have really changed. . . too bad because we had a blast there.

PS: I had my 928 there for the first 2 years I owned the car. I purchased the car in Springfield Tennessee (left that day) and drove it stright to Aguscalientes, Mexico, a 25hr. drive! I knew nothing about a 928, guess is worked out ok

Joey, your friend with the "warehouse" is in town? I may drive to McAllen this Sunday to meet you and look at his collection (if possible) :-)

I took a look at the car today. The passenger side has been painted sometime in the past. It is metallic gold? and the painted portion is a perfect match. The passenger door has an inch bubble around the door handle. The winshield panel has poor bondo job. The rear quarter has some light surface scratched. The front lower spoiler is MIA. The rear quarter panels are almost perfect and the leather interior is in very good condition with no rips. So is the leather dashboard and leather POD.

The 928 was the first car to be auctioned but they had a hard time getting it to idle. They finally got it going after 20 min or so. The bid started at $1000 and was sold for $6300 which was too much in my opinion.

I haven't seen him in awhile I usually see him at the mechanic I go to which is the only Porsche mechanic down here. Luckily he is very knowledgable in 928s. He has had 5 of them!! Has only one now ,but it had engine problems.
