Default Inline 044 fuel pump. Keep in tank pump?

Can both pumps be used at the same time on the stock circuit? Car is an '85.

Rick,
Unless you added it the 85 did not have an intank pump.

Hi Roger,
That's what I thought but couldn't find the pump when the car was up on the rack. Where is it?

The intank pump is located where the hose from the external pump enters the tank.
All under a cover on the back of the tank beneath the rear bumper. Easy to remove - 2 nuts.

If I don't have an internal where is the external?
Is it under a cover on the back of the tank beneath the rear bumper? I'll go check my manuals, when all else fails read the instructions.

Yes, as Roger said. Very easy to access. The filter is right next to it under that cover.

Rick,

I would use the stock fuel pump circuit to trigger a heavy duty relay (and wiring)kit to power that 044 pump. I did that on mine, pretty sure it was a 30 amp kit. The factory wiring is pretty thin, and may not be enough for the new pump.

Just passing along some really good advice I got a couple of years ago.

This is where I put my relay, and ran a direct heavy gauge wire to the 044 pump. (direct off the battery)
