I've already replaced the fuse and have power on both sides of the fuse contacts. The warning light on the cluster is for the "Stop Lamp". Where does the power originate from that is going to the brake pressure switches at the master cylinder?
Thanks,
David

Central Electric Pin F6 is before the brake switches (from the fuse) and F7 is after the switch - you should have power at least to F6 since your fuse is good - Connect pin F6 to F7 - do your brake lights come on? if yes your problem is the brake switch(es) or brake switch wiring.
Double check how you are measuring things... you sure?

I command thee thread to rise from the grave!
Alright so that aside, this thread was too perfect and is the example I'm using to diagnose my stop light problem, however I've hit a snag.
I have power to both sides of the fuse, but not to F6 on the CE panel. Car is a 1982 also. I'm checking fuse 10 (8amps) and it is switched on with the key (odd I thought most brake circuits work even with the key out). I then take my probe (pointy thing with the light in the handle) and poke it in to F6 on the CE panel. Nothing. I press the brake pedal to be sure, nothing. I'm certain this is F6 following the guide in this thread. I check F1 and it lights up. I check F8 and my horn honks. F6, nothing. F7, nothing (with pedal) so how do I have power on both sides of the fuse, but not at F6? Thank you again for the help.

Hrm, alright. Any chance there's a way I can get the fuse chart you've got? Because I checked online at 928gt and looked at their 82 fuse chart and, well, it was different. This worries me because that is the chart I've been working off of, and if that is incorrect then I'm concerned I may have other fuse related issues. On the other hand, I think you just fixed my problem, will find out later tonight. But, is there somewhere I can procure a copy of the wiring diagram for an 82? Will be helpful chasing down a drain I have.

You can by the CD set from Roger with the diagrams, WSM and bunches of cool technical publications. Fuse use is easy to get from those diagrams, but is not on one page.
The wiring diagrams do indeed show fuse 7.
The specialists diagram seems wrong.
There is a special set of consolidated wiring diagrams for the 82 within the 82 Service Info Tech document, also. Again, no consolidated fuse page.

If it wouldn't be too much trouble to ask, any chance someone with access to a *correct* fuse panel chart could cross-check it with the 928 specialist one to see if there are any other errors? Now I'm worried, want to make sure I don't fry something if I go take her for a spin (once I replace fuse 7 that is)

I paged thru the 82 wiring diagrams and compared them to the specialists chart.
Looks like the fuse 7 vs fuse 10 situation is the only thing that deviates from wiring diagrams. (Seems like we've had this discussion in the past, too)
Fuse 14 for seats in the wiring diagrams is listed two places with two different values, probably dependent on what seat option is used. looks like lower amps if drivers seat is powered but not passenger seat. 25A if both, 8 amp if simple single seat.

A quick look shows the Fuse 7 - Fuse 10 mixup as the only significant difference. The fuses are also incorrect on the 1981 chart. The fuses changed from 1980 to 1981. We have the 1983 and 1984 charts correct.
Our apologies - we'll try to get it changed soon.
